Stained boxwood or service tree (sorb tree).
Three silver keys, fourth double tone-hole. Fourth single tone-hole, as on the original, on request. An alto oboe bell, as on the original, can also be delivered on request.
The original instrument
Alto oboe preserved in Wien museum, under the number Wien 149. Dark stained fruit-tree wood, marked M. Deper on the center joint. Three brass keys. Short flared bell.
This instrument is one of the rare subsisting alto hautboy (haute-contre) of the baroque period.
